Here's how to nourish yourself during fall

Hey Reader,

Can you believe it’s already Fall? 🍂

This time of year, I’m ready for some warm soups and handmade, vegan scarves!

Seasonal transitions are also the perfect time to step back and re-think some of your health habits.

Let’s talk about how to nourish your body through the cooler months and make sure you’re staying on track with your menopause journey!

  1. If darker days leave you feeling exhausted or depressed, try the practice of early morning light exposure. For me, this means going outside for a 10-15 minute walk shortly after I wake up. This has a huge impact on my energy and mood. For days when the weather isn’t cooperating, I use this light therapy lamp.
  2. If you live in a northern climate as I do, you most likely aren’t getting sufficient vitamin D during the fall and winter because the sun rays aren’t as intense. Deficiency of vitamin D can affect your immunity, bone and hair health, and cause fatigue. I supplement with this vegan vitamin D3.
  3. For days when you feel extra fatigued, try the Five Minute Trick. Set the timer and do something, anything, that moves you towards your goals for five minutes. That can be whatever you feel like: doing some sun salutations or stretches, taking a walk, listening to a short meditation audio, or dancing to your favorite song for five minutes. You may even find that once you get started, you feel energized and want to continue!

If you need a little extra support with your health goals this Fall, I invite you to check out my one-on-one coaching or hit reply with any questions.

Stay cozy!

Anna

Hi Reader, How are you feeling this week? I've been getting over a cold -- my first one in over two years! It finally caught up with me, and my body made it clear that I needed to slow down. So, this past week has been all about broccoli chickpea soup (thankfully, I had lots stored in the freezer!) with a few tablespoons of hemp seeds for extra protein and healthy fats, and endless mugs of hot water with lemon and fresh, grated ginger. Simple, nourishing, and exactly what I needed. Looking...
