I know this is a controversial topic...

But I had to discuss it because it's so important! Protein is the subject of many debates and internet fights. From keto to fruitarian, everyone has an opinion on it. In North America, excess protein is more of a problem than protein deficiency, leading to obesity, heart disease, stroke, cancer, just to name a few. But getting sufficient protein is still necessary.

In my newest podcast episode, I share five things you need to know about protein. Here is an excerpt:

"As we get older, our protein requirements actually increase. This may come as a surprise since we often become less active, and many people would assume dietary needs decrease with age. The reality is that our bodies process and absorb protein less efficiently as we age which means we need a higher intake to maintain muscle mass and overall health. Changing hormones affect our digestion and our gut. The production of stomach acid and enzymes declines."
